Importance and Effect of Co-registration Quality in an Example of « Pixel to Pixel » Fusion Process
نویسنده
چکیده
By definition, as they require the images to merge to be superimposable, « pixel to pixel » fusion processes raise up the issue of the outcome of geometric co-registration quality on the resulting images. Indeed, local errors of geometric co-registration may introduce local errors in the merging process. Hence, we can wonder how can we define and reach the coregistration quality level that is required to minimise errors in « pixel to pixel » merging processes. The aim of this work is to understand, thanks to an example of such fusion process applied to images with different degrees of geometric distortions, the outcome of coregistration error on the fusion quality and, therefore, to measure the efficiency of some coregistration methods for the pre-processing of « pixel to pixel » merging application.

Image Quality Enhancement Using Pixel Wise Gamma Correction
This paper presents a new automatic image enhancement method by modifying the gamma value of its individual pixels. Most of existing gamma correction methods apply a uniform gamma value across the image. Considering the fact that gamma variation for a single image is actually nonlinear, the proposed method locally estimates the gamma values in an image using support vector machine. First, a dat...
متن کاملObject Level Strategy for Spectral Quality Assessment of High Resolution Pan-sharpen Images
Panchromatic and multi-spectral images produced by the remote sensing satellites are fused together to provide a multi-spectral image with a high spatial resolution at the same time. The spectral quality of the fused images is very important because the quality of a large number of remote sensing products depends on it. Due to the importance of the spectral quality of the fused images, its eval...
متن کاملComparative Evaluation of Image Fusion Methods for Hyperspectral and Panchromatic Data Fusion in Agricultural and Urban Areas
Nowadays remote sensing plays a key role in the field of earth science studies due to some of the advantages, including data collection at a very low cost and time on a very large scale. Meanwhile, using hyperspectral data is of great importance due to the high spectral resolution. Because of some limitations, such as hyperspectral imaging technology, it suffers from a reduction in the spatial ...
متن کاملImage Stitching of the Computed Radiology images Using a Pixel-Based Approach
In this paper, a method for automatic stitching of radiology images based on pixel features has been presented. In this method, according to the smooth texture of radiological images and in order to increase the number of the extracted features after quality enhancement of initial radiology images, 45 degree isotropic mask is applied to each radiology image to observe the image details. After t...
متن کاملValidation Protocol Applied to an Automatic Co-registration Method Based on Multi-resolution Analysis and Local Deformation Models
The issue of co-registration distortions between images is one of major problems involved in data fusion processes. This conclusion can be extended to change detection generally also performing on a pixel basis. Accurate methods are therefore required for co-registration of images in these particular cases. It is the reason why we present a co-registration method using multi-resolution analysis...
